MOVED TO DESIGN
Growing up our family moved around a lot. Every place we moved always had its great challenges in design, colors, and placement of furniture. My Dad always had his ideas of what would work…for a quick fix. But then came the ideas from Mother and I as to what really should happen! Those challenges and different needs helped spark my interest in all the aspects of interior design, leading to the degree program and a career path.
For my own home, I love to be surrounded by the soft, serene spa colors as seen in Impressionism art.
When it comes to design trends, my favorite in our region is to blend the classic and transitional styles. We incorporate new colors and simpler lines in furniture, while selecting finishes that will enhance the heirlooms and fine pieces that clients have collected over the years. An example would be a painted chest that can add an updated look and blend well with existing pieces creating a new look.
